PROM DRESS SHOES - Heel Heights
NOTE: The dress shoe heel heights listed on this prom shoe site
match factory heel measurements.
When you purchase formal prom dress shoes with a 2 3/4 inch heel
it actually measures closer to 3 inches. This is because the shoe
industry measures prom dress shoe heel heights to the inside of
the heel and not the back of the heel. When ordering prom dress
shoes, a good rule of thumb is to add at least 1/2 inch to each
listed heel height.
AS PROM SHOES GET LARGER, HEEL HEIGHTS GET HIGHER
A large prom shoes size will have a bearing on your shoe’s
heel height. As the size of your prom shoes get larger, the heel
height will get proportionally higher to accommodate for the size
difference. In other words, when ordering the large prom shoes size
of 11 (even though it may be the same style of short heel prom shoes
such as a size 6 that has only a 1 inch in heel height) the size
11 will have a heel that is between 1/4 and 1/2 inch higher. If
